Laying of tiles..

This week, according to the schedule verbally conveyed to us, the workers will start laying down the tiles in our flat..

So I went to take a peek of the laying of the floor tiles..

Status:

• Living room: around 50% is already covered with tiles
• Dining room area is fully covered.
• Study room floor is still not done yet.
• The bedroom: HDB has not started on the cement screeding yet.

There's still some wet cement at the area near the balcony so I wasn't able to take a close picture of the outdoor tiles.

Looks like they've finished laying the outdoor tiles at our balcony..

Skirting isn't done yet. We told our ID that we wanted to have wood skirting. hopefully it'll turn out good.

It was a quick visit.. probably spent 30 mins there..
I can't wait to see when the tiles are completed..

another update!!

We went to meet our ID last Wednesday.
He showed us his computer generated design drafts and we made some color selection for the theme of our feature walls, wardrobe, etc etc
it was very tiring..
anyway.. we're still not done yet, we still have to go back to his place to work out the details and to approve his designs.. long way to go..

So, this weekend, we wanted to settle our kitchen hob (fancy way of saying: stove), hood (fancy way of labelling that device that sucks and cleans the air above your stove) and oven (it's an oven, the thing that bakes your cookies, what else should it be called? :þ )
We compared products from Technogas, Electrolux, Teka and Ariston.
In the end, we found that Mayer marketing has a pretty good promotion for their Ariston products. So we got our hob, hood and oven from them. Yippeee.. another thing settled.

We wanted to confirm our speaker systems so that our ID can conceal the wires for the satellite speakers while they construct the false ceiling .. We saw a great deal at Audio House for their Yamaha speakers and almost went to get it. However, my fiance had a feeling that we have to at least check out Harvey Norman's branch at Millenia walk to see their home entertainment system.. and guess what.. in the end, we finally bought ours from Harvey Norman.

Haha.. audiophile we're not.

And, it won't be a complete weekend without a visit to our flat. We found that the tiles have been delivered.. and our ID has started work on getting the floor ready for screeding.. tiling will be done next week.

Btw, my fiance was down with toothache for the weekend, it was amazing that she managed to go around shopping this weekend.. She's such a superb and great girl! Love her very much!
