Water works checks..

We went for a jog in the afternoon to Labrador Park, which is about 10 minutes away from our new flat..

After sweating profusely in the hot afternoon sun, we went to our new flat to check on the water works and the effects of the afternoon sun ..

Looks like everything's fine, water is flowing fine in the bathroom taps, and also in the service balcony..
However, the toilet bowls have stains which cannot be removed..
We will probably report these stains to the HDB as part of the defect in the new flat...

Anyway, I realized I didn't take pictures of the living and dining room from the main entrance angle in my previous post..

so here goes..

You can see the master bedroom door at the far end, near the balcony..
The door nearer to the foreground leads to the kitchen..

Another view of the kitchen door and the passageway to bedroom2 and bedroom3..

We also found that the afternoon sun does not really affect the master bedroom.
However, the afternoon sun really affects the balcony. The balcony needs some shades from the afternoon sun. We need to figure out how to do this with an aesthetically pleasant solution (ie. must look good) ..
Maybe we'll discuss this with our interior designer..

Spent around 30 minutes in the flat today... Went back home after checking the water works ..

We forgot to bring phone chargers to test the electrical connections.. maybe we'll do that another time..

That's all for the visit for today..

Beginning

Finally! After 1 year searching for a flat to start our new life together:
My Fiance and I received the keys for our flat last Friday!
27 keys in total! that's a lot of keys..
of course some of them are duplicate keys for the same locks

We'll tell you more on the search for flat in later posting..
I'm so excited in getting my new place, I'll place photos of the flat first..

After getting our keys, we rushed down to our flat, and took at look at the flat..
We reached the flat around 430pm, it was slightly drizzling.. and took a look the inside of our new flat for the first time..

Bear with me while I flood this blog for the pictures.. and pardon the picture quality, they're all taken by my trusty N73 cameraphone

Bedroom 2
The room with the smallest window, which surprisingly is enough to provide enough lighting for the room

view of the bedroom 3,
looks like the room with the best view

Study room
and the view from the study room

nothing fancy here.. just the inside view of our household shelter..

And the common bathroom

view of the bare kitchen , you can see the window to the service balcony on the left...

and if you see closely, you can see the marker marks that our interior designer made after confirming the measurement as per his quotations..

Followed by .. service balcony, the future home for Mr. Washy Washy aka washing-machinotus

View from the service balcony window.. wow.. great view..
From here we can see the Jalan Rumah Tinggi flats (3 blocks of brown building in the centre of the picture). We were looking quite intensively for a flat in the area before we secured this current flat..
Thank the Lord for He works in mysterious ways..

A view of the master bedroom from the service balcony..

You can see the bamboo pole holder to hang laundry

Let's take a look at the master bedroom: you can see the 5 panels windows on the left, I'm glad it's not full length window panels..
:-)

The view from the master bedroom window..

You can see the greeneries from the bedroom window..

Let's zoom in on how the views are from these windows: overlooking the Telok Blangah Hill Park

And not forgetting the master bathroom

View from the master bedroom door, looking at the main entrance door

Door to the balcony: full length window to the balcony, but blue panel covers the bottom part of the balcony, blocking a full length view from the balcony..
weird design..
